BTS Talk New Album, Dating and If They’d Ever Embark on Solo Careers

BTS stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on the heels of the release of their 7th studio album, Map Of The Soul: Persona. One of the biggest cultural phenomenons of recent years — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook — dished to Ryan Seacrest everything from the importance behind their album to dating and even if they’d ever embark on solo careers.

“It’s our new series after our ‘Love Yourself’ series,” spokesperson RM explained of their 7th studio album. “It’s titled ‘Persona.’ We got seven tracks also including ‘(Boy With Luv)’ [feat. Halsey]. It’s about finding … what’s in our soul … [the] process of finding the map of our soul.”

The K-Pop group paired up with Halsey after meeting the songstress two years ago backstage at the Billboard Music Awards.

“She was a fan and we were also a fan,” RM added. “We got to know her by ‘Closer’ of Chainsmokers … so we were like fans [at first].”

The band added that when they recorded with Halsey, she treated them to churros for the first time.

Their collab with Halsey is just one of the many chart-breaking hits they’re behind, with their fans, dubbed ARMY, even more dedicated.

“We just did it naturally,” RM said of how they built such a strong connection with their fanbase. “Before our debut seven years ago naturally. ... We uploaded our photos and what we’re listening to and what we’re eating and we always tried to include messages of what we really feel.”

Speaking of their feelings, the group hilariously dodged the question when asked if they’re dating.

“Connection is really not good,” RM joked when Sisanie asked about their dating lives. “We FaceTime each other.”

They’re also dedicated to remaining BTS as a whole. When asked if they have any aspirations to embark on solo careers, they immediately answered “No.”

That said, they do enjoy some healthy space from each other from time to time.

“We have to keep a line,” RM said when Ryan jokingly asked if they have each other’s passwords. “Of course we’re boys, [men], so we fight sometime.”
