Tekashi 6ix9ine Could Be Released From Jail Before The End Of The Year

Tekashi 6ix9ine doesn't want to wait to learn his fate.

According to reports, the 23-year-old rapper and his attorney Lance Lazzaro have requested that his sentencing date be expedited. With the "FEFE" rapper's current sentencing date scheduled for January 24, 2020, his legal team has asked that it be moved up to a date before the end of the year. The request was reportedly backed by prosecutors, who chose not to oppose the appeal given Tekashi's recent role as a government witness.

As fans know, the odds of Tekashi receiving a 2019 sentencing date are in his favor since his snitching, at least in part, led to two of his ex-fellow gang members receiving guilty verdicts. On Thursday (October 3), a New York City jury found Anthony "Harv" Ellison, who was accused of kidnapping and robbing 6ix9ine back in 2018, guilty of kidnapping in aid of racketeering. Harv was also found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. His alleged accomplice, Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack, was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and narcotics trafficking.

While 6ix9ine is currently facing a 47-year prison sentence, the guilty verdicts will most likely decrease his sentencing substantially. And since the "GUMMO" rapper not only named names when took he stand in a Manhattan federal court last month — he also revealed his role in the gang and previously unknown details about its activity — he could be a free man, if given an expedited sentencing hearing, before the end of the year.
