DMX Health Update: Family Facing Difficult Decision

DMX's health has not improved.

According to TMZ, the 50-year-old rapper "has not regained any brain function nearly a week after his overdose," and his family "may soon" face the decision whether to withdraw life support.

The outlet's report comes after X's doctors performed several tests on Wednesday (April 7) that reportedly showed "no improvement" in brain activity since X was rushed to the hospital after suffering a reported drug-induced heart attack last Friday (April 2). As TMZ previously reported, DMX has had "little brain function after being deprived of oxygen for nearly half an hour."

On Wednesday, X's manager Steve Rifkind told TMZ that X remained in a coma and his condition had not materially changed. He also noted that Wednesday's tests were critical and once the results were in "the family would determine what's best from there."

Given the unfortunate test results, a source told TMZ on Thursday (April 8) that X's family has asked Steve to fly to New York on Friday (April 9), which the outlet noted is "another sign that hope is dwindling."
