Sen. Cory Booker has revealed that he once went on a date with Mariah Carey.

During a recent interview with The Shade Room, Booker revealed that he went on a blind date with Carey "years ago."

“This is going to make some news, I guess,” the senator said. “But years ago, years ago, I was set up on sort of a blind date with Mariah Carey.”

The confession appeared to take the interviewer, Thembi Mawema, by surprise, as she responded, saying, "No."

"Yes," Booker said with a chuckle.

“It was one of those times where you just know you’re in the presence of somebody that has a grandeur about them,” he continued. “And I’m not talking about her talent, but she just has this light. We laughed and had a good time ... It was clearly not a love match.”

Mawema joked that Carey might come out and deny knowing Booker. She asked the Democrat if he thought the singer would corroborate his dating story.

"I feel some kind of way, but her brother and cousin was there, too. There were witnesses," Booker said.

He then turned to the camera, addressing the singer by saying, "Don’t deny me, Mariah. Don't deny me now.”

Booker's last public relationship was with actor Rosario Dawson. The two reportedly split in 2022. In 2016, Carey reportedly started dating choreographer and dancer Bryan Tanaka. Tanaka confirmed on social media in 2023 that the pair had broken up.
