Lil Nas X has been released from jail after he posted bail and pleaded not guilty to felony charges of battery against a police officer.

The "Old Town Road" artist, born Montero Hill, waived his arraignment on Monday, August 25, and formally denied the allegations against him. The judge granted him bail for $75,000, and he posted it the same day. TMZ caught the moment when Hill left jail. He was still in his blue prisoner's garments when he left custody. He decided to remain silent as he hopped into the back of a white Jeep.

Lil Nas X was charged with four felony charges, including battery with injury on a police officer and resisting an executive officer, after he stripped naked while walking in the middle of the street in Ventura, Calif. In response to calls from witnesses, police approached the artist and believed he was suffering from a drug overdose. That's when Lil Nas got completely naked and lunged at the officers. He allegedly injured three of them, but was tased and subdued. He was taken to a hospital before he was transferred to jail.

The 26-year-old was held without bail and spent the weekend behind bars before he faced a judge. He was released on bail and ordered not to use or possess illegal narcotics. He must also enroll in an outpatient program. Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed that Lil Nas X faces up to five years in prison if convicted of the charges.

Montero's father attended his court hearing on Monday. He told a group of reporters that his son feels remorseful about the situation and he'll receive the help he needs. See what Lil Nas X's dad had to say below.
